Update to our 27 March Newsletter
Government Decree 168/2020. (IV.30.) relaxed the restriction of free movement as follows as from 4 May 2020, except for Budapest and county of Pest (where free movement is similarly restricted as before):
- All businesses can be open to customers.
- Services are freely available to anyone and premises providing services can be open to customers.
- Catering establishments: it is forbidden to stay inside (except for: handing over and delivery of take-away food), but it is allowed to stay in the garden or on the terrace of such establishment to consume the ordered food/drink.
- Between 9:00 and 12:00, the grocery shops, the drug stores and pharmacies can be visited only by people over the age of 65.
- Everybody must wear something (e.g. scarf, mask) to cover his or her mouth and nose while shopping or using public transport.
- If possible, everyone must keep minimum 1,5 m distance from another person.
- A person who violates any of the protective measures described above, commits an infringement, and may be fined. The minimum amount of the fine is HUF 5,000, the maximum amount is HUF 500,000.
- The operators of shops, restaurants, baths and other institutions shall be liable for keeping these safety measures. A fine may be imposed on such parties, should they fail to comply with these rules.
